Five years ago, Mac Miller performed his first Tiny Desk Concert. To this day, it is still the most watched tiny desk concert, with over 100 million views. Releasing his fifth studio album, Mac decides to play three brand new songs off the album.

This would be one of Mac Miller’s last live performances, as he would end up passing away a month later. Recently, I was able to get a vinyl print of this Tiny Desk concert, which holds a near and dear place in my heart. As is usually done with a full studio production, Mac decides to break down three songs and capture the raw and unfiltered emotion each one has to offer. From one of his most popular tracks, Small Worlds, to one of his most personal, 2009, he is able to hold the audience captive in this little world he’s made and create such a full performance within those 17 minutes. I’m sure you’ve seen it; I’d be shocked if you hadn’t, but there’s nothing wrong with a little circle back. Looking at the comments on YouTube, you can see how much Mac meant to so many people.

Case & point.

Like many, I do miss him, even though I never meant to. I think it’s weird to spend so much time listening to someone's inner thoughts and never actually being able to talk to him. Alas, I am glad I have his music, and I am so appreciative that he left us. Miss ya Mac.
